This qualification is designed to meet the needs of specialist demolition workers who dismantle and demolish public, residential, commercial, and industrial structures of all types, and process the resulting materials for salvage, recycling, and waste disposal.

Occupational titles could include:

  • Demolition Team Leader
  • Demolition Supervisor

Pre-requisite

  • You must be over 18 years of age.
  • Basic written and verbal English
  • Have a USI ID
  • Achievement of CPCCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry. (You must provide the RTO training certificate NOT THE WHITE CARD).
  • Minimum of 2 years practical work experience.

Assessment method

You will be required to submit the following:

  • Work history.
  • Employer references from a licence holder in the qualification requested.
  • Completed Site documents showing your direct involvement (SWMS, Quotes, Pre-starts, Meeting minutes, Checklists)
  • Answer relevant Knowledge questions.
  • Undertake an interview with the Assessor.
  • Submit photos of completed work.
  • Create a video of you performing tasks.

Certification

Upon successful completion student will be awarded a Qualification certificate in “CPC30420. Certificate III in Demolition”.

Credit transfer

Credit transfer is the recognition of learning achieved through formal education and training. Under the Australian VET Framework, qualifications and statements of attainment issued by any RTO are to be accepted and recognised by all other RTOs. Credit transfer allows a student to be awarded a unit of competency based on successful completion of the unit which has been previously awarded.

Technical requirements

Courses are conducted over the internet.  As such, you will need access to a suitable computer or tablet device with a connection to the internet.  You need to have access to a webcam and/or video recording device such as a mobile phone. Most home computers are suitable.

Gone are the days of smash it down and clear it away. Modern demolition is all about deconstructing a building and recovering many of the materials as possible for reuse.

This qualification is designed to meet the needs of demolition workers and leading hands undertaking specialist demolition work on large public, commercial, industrial, or residential buildings, structures, and installations, including chemical processing plants which may exceed 15 metres in height. • Demolition worker

The construction industry strongly affirms that training and assessment leading to recognition of skills must be undertaken in a real or very closely simulated workplace environment and this qualification requires all units of competency to be delivered in this context.

Victoria Demolition supervisor

In Victoria, this qualification along with 6 units form CPC41013 Certificate IV in demolition will provide the requirements for Licencing under VBA for holding a demolition licence – refer to tab “Demolition supervisor – Victoria”.
